The Panther varsity girls soccer team upped their conference record to 3-0 with a hard fought win over visiting Marshall Thursday night. It took just 13 minutes for the Panthers to get the early lead with a nice goal from Nevaeh Hartshorn. Madison Brandt sent her a perfect one touch pass that got Hartshorn in behind the defense. It wasn’t until the 63rd minute that Marshall was able to sneak a shot past goalkeeper Shelby Vivian. Tied, with six and half minutes left in the game, Rayah Hitt would get the game winner off a rebound from a Claudia Allen shot. Three minutes later Hitt would once again find the net off a second Allen assist putting the score to 3-1. Western outshot the Redhawks 10-3. Western will play at home next Monday against Brighton High School. Game time is 6:30. Season Record 5-4-0Conference Record 3-0-0
More About Western Varsity vs Marshall 3-1 WinOn Thursday, the #8 Western Girls Tennis Team traveled to Hastings and picked up a 7-1 victory to remain undefeated in the I-8 Conference with a record of 4-0. One of the highlights of the afternoon was a win by 2 singles Ali Carmody who finished first and received the coveted Victory Poncho. Next up for the Panthers is a match vs Division 3 foe Haslett on Monday at home at 4:00 pm. Let's go Panthers!
More About Varsity Tennis Defeats HastingsThursday April 24th the Panthers took on the Marshall RedHawks at the Panther bowl. Western came out strong and was connecting passes. The first goal came from Emma Paquin assisted by Jillian Barnes. Marshall didn’t shut down and held the Panthers to 1 for the first half. Western made some adjustments at half and were able to capitalize two more times with goals coming from Ceci Gretz and Carly Gilbert with assists on both goals coming from Emma Paquin. The Lady Panthers continue to grow as a team each game! They are in action again Monday April 28th home against Brighton.
More About JV Soccer Defeats MarshallOn 4/24/25, the Western JV Girls Tennis team crushed Hastings winning all flights. Two doubles flights to take notice of that didn’t give up a single were Mara and Sylvia Bivens, and Jynelle Lewis and Francesca Canziani. Only giving up a single game were doubles flights of Rheonna Watson and Taylor Bradley, and Dominique Brewer and Emma Kennedy. Kaia Bruneel and Rajanya Ghosh gave up only 3 total games for their doubles flight match. Great job ladies and way to take care of business. Next up on Monday, 4/28/25, the Western JV will host Haslett at 4:30 at Spring Arbor University.

The Western Girls defeated Hastings, 102-59, while the Western Boys won by a score of 96.5-65.5. Kylie VanCalbergh had a perfect day, winning both short sprint races and the Pole Vault. VanCalbergh broke the school record in the 70 Meter Dash with a time of 9.85. VanCalbergh ran a 13.63 to win the 100 Meter Dash and cleared 8’ in to win the Pole Vault, rounding out a 15-point day for the Panthers. The Boys and Girls teams each won three of the four relay races.Lucas Johnston, Derek Boldt, Kannon Kelch and Micah Good scored a come-from-behind victory to win the 4x400 Meter Relay with a time of 4:19.92. Logan Cristian, Leland Sowle, Josiah Rivera and Micah Good won the 4x800 Meter Relay with a time of 9:45.82, and Drago Djudjevic, Joel Toyer, Wyatt Griswold and Alexander Fausz won the 4x200 Meter Relay for Western with a time of 1:55.02. More About JV Baseball Tonight CancelledGrass LakeIn game 1 against Grass Lake Kaileigh Stiles drove in four runs on two hits to lead Western High School JVSB past Grass Lake 20-9 on Monday. Stiles singled in the first inning, scoring one run, and doubled in the second inning, scoring one.Western High School JVSB collected 15 hits and Grass Lake had four in the high-scoring affair.Grass Lake got on the board in the top of the first inning.Western High School JVSB tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Stiles, a single by Ava Buckland, and a triple by Taryn Sawyer.Grass Lake took the lead in the top of the second. Scoring three runs, to give Grass Lake the edge, 7-4.Western High School JVSB took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Anna Pohl singled to center field, Stiles doubled to center field, Ryleigh Wellman singled down the right field line, and Grass Lake committed an error, each scoring one run. More About JV Softball Goes 4-0!The Panther varsity soccer team beat Coldwater 5-0 Wednesday night to bring their conference record to 2-0-0. It took awhile for the team to get going as they went into halftime with just a 1-0 lead off the foot of Freshman Jillian Barnes. After figuring some things out at halftime the team looked much better on the attack and would score four more by the final buzzer. Nevaeh Hartshorn, Kaydence Watson and Claudia Allen each scored one and Barnes contributed another as well. Ceci Graetz, Jordan Goolsby, Emrick Boobyer and Bella Miles each had an assist. Shelby Vivian recorded the shutout for the Panthers in goal. Freshman Ellie Hackworth had another solid game playing multiple defensive positions. The Panthers will play their 3rd game in four days Thursday at home against a strong Marshall team. Both teams enter the game with a 2-0 start in the Conference. Season Record 4-4-0Conference 2-0-0
More About Varsity Soccer Defeats Coldwater!Western girls soccer traveled to Coldwater Wednesday April 23rd to take on the Coldwater Cardinals. Western cam out strong connecting passes and moving the ball around. The Panthers first goal came from a free kick from Veronica Allen to Sophie Gienapp who had 2 for the evening. Once the Panthers saw one go in the rest followed with goals from Emma Paquin, Emi Miles, Olivia Sine, and 3 from Lily Kalenchick. Assists for the evening came from Emi Miles, Jillian Barnes, Emma Paquin with 2, Jade Dillay, and Sophie Gienapp with 2. The Panthers are back in action April 24th at the Panther bowl against Marshall at 5:00
More About JV Girls Soccer Defeats ColdwaterThe varsity softball team couldn't match up to Marshall's strong hitting performance tonight. The I8 match up didn't go as the Panther as hoped. In game one, Western only collected three hits led by seniors Bayli Stewart (3B) and Kenadee Golas with two and one respectively. Final score Marshall 16, Western 1. Game two, the Panthers only gathered four hits. Anna Benn, Kenadee Golas (3B), Amber Gregory, and Savanna Vo got on base. Gregory took the pitching loss striking out 5. The Panthers will grind the next three days and be back in action on Saturday at home 10am.

Marshall Game 1Marshall 11 Western 8 Despite leading by as many as four runs, Parma Western Panthers Varsity 2025 fell to Marshall Varsity Redhawks 2025 11-8 on Tuesday at Western High School. Parma Western Panthers Varsity 2025 got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Luke Nally singled, scoring two runs, Brody Parrott singled, scoring one run, and Cody Spitzer drew a walk, scoring one run. Parma Western Panthers Varsity 2025 tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a double by Lincoln Levy, a ground out by Andrew Parrott, and a single by Jackson Luke. Marshall Varsity Redhawks 2025 took the lead in the top of the seventh. A wild pitch scored one run, to give Marshall Varsity Redhawks 2025 the advantage, 8-7. B Parrott doubled to start the 7th, Chapko moved him over and a wild pitch scored the runner to tie the game up. The Panthers couldn't match the 8th inning rally by Marshall.&
More About Varsity Baseball Battled I8 Foe MarshallParma Western JV Tennis travelled to Holt on 8/19 for our first match. We split with Holt as we had wins at 1 Singles Isaac Chilson 8-5, 2 Singles Drew Gillett 8-2, 3 Singles Tyler Gilbert 9-8(7-4) and 1 Doubles Luke Collins and Brady Smith 8-3.
