Western Middle School Track Scores Big at Saline Relays



 

The Western Middle School Boys and Girls Track teams both took home accolades at the Saline Hornet Relays on Wednesday as the two teams combined to win 18 individual and relay medals.


 

Western sported four winners in the individual field events.


 

Darren Greene (8th) won the Boys High Jump with a personal best height of 5’8”.


 

James Harris (8th, 44’0.5”), Christian Johnson (8th, 43’5.25”) and Chanddym Stephenson (8th, 33’8.5”) swept the Shot Put medals, finishing first, second and third respectively.


 

Willow Addleman (7th) won the Girls High Jump with a personal best height of 4’7”.


 

Zaviana Jackson (8th) took first place in the Long Jump with a personal best distance of 15’10”.   Avery Woodhurst (7th, 14’6.75”) medaled by finishing third, and Julianna Smith (7th, 13’11.75”) took fourth.


 

Maurice Qualls (8th), Stephenson, Johnson and Greene also took second place in the 4x200 Meter Relay with a time of 1:40.82, bettering their school record by more than two seconds.


 

Alivia Stahley (8th), Morgan Smith (8th), Jackson and Adalynn Newton (7th) took second place in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 14:43.81.


 

Derek Boldt (8th), Theo Bayn (8th), Ethan Robinson (8th) and Qualls placed second in the 4x55 Meter Shuttle Hurdle Relay with a time of :37.41.


 

Leeland LaRose (8th), Greene, Liam Bryant (8th) and Devin Hill (8th) finished in second place in the Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 1:52.54.


 

Hunter Honeycutt (8th), Jacob Kubish (8th), Stephenson and Bryant took home third place medals in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of :51.30.


 

Mariska Brand (7th), Braelynn Schaffer (8th), Mallie Backinger (8th) and Olivia Sweezey (7th) also took third place in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of :56.83.


 

Eden Stahl (7th), Brand, Alivia Pluta (7th) and Emmary Carothers (7th) finished third in the 4x400 Meter Relay at 4:45.92.


 

Derek Boldt (8th), Devin Hill (8th) and Kanon Kelch (8th) placed second, third and fourth in the Individual Pole Vault.  Boldt cleared a personal best 9’0”, while Hill and Kelch each cleared 8’6”.


 

Anthony Hannah (7th) took a second place medal in the Long Jump with a personal best distance of 16’9.75”.


 

The 4x800 Meter Relay team was the last of the medal winners, as Stahley, Morgan Smith, Stahl and Jackson placed third with a time of 11:12.83.

Giuvanni Tinervia (7th), Mason Barber (8th), Leeland LaRose (8th), Anthony Hannah (7th), :52.60, 6th place


 

Boys 4x200 Meter Relay

Tinervia, Barber, Honeycutt, Ryan Crownover (7th), 1:51.39, 7th place


 

Boys 4x400 Meter Relay

Both Panther teams head to Ypsilanti Lincoln next Wednesday for the Regional track meet.
