Last night we traveled to Charlotte to take on the Orioles in the dome. We were a bit nervous as we haven’t heard much about this team before, but we were ready to take on whatever they decided to throw our way. We started off a little surprised in the first quarter and had to adjust our strategy as a team. We ended the first quarter down 3-20. We settled ourselves a little, but the scoring opportunities were not there for our offense. In the second quarter we ended 5-30. At the half, we went into the locker room and made a plan. Instead of only thinking about ourselves or the faults of others, we needed to rally and work together as a team. Utilizing each other on the court to open up those scoring opportunities. In the third quarter we played with that spirit and ended down 10-44. Determined to make moves on Charlotte, our girls fought for steals and worked our offense for smart shots and plays. We began to click as a team on the court and ended with a loss, but with the most points scored in the fourth quarter, 21-52. After realizing what we are capable of when we work together, we were able to put up points, it was just too late in the game to make a comeback. Our top scorers were Jasmine with 7 points, Aniah and Neveah with 6 points, and Peyton with 2 points. We want to thank all of the parents and family members who came to support us as we needed the rally cry and cheering. Come out and see us take on Marshall next week Tuesday. Go Panthers!
