The Western Panthers 7th grade girls’ A team battled hard but came up just short in a 53–49 loss to the NW Mounties. Western got off to a great start, leading 16–11 after the first quarter and setting the tone with confident offense and strong energy.
Momentum shifted in the second half when Northwest went on a scoring run, putting up 17 points in the third quarter while Western only managed 9. Despite the swing, the Panthers continued to compete and stayed within striking distance until the final minutes.
Baylei Mohr delivered a remarkable performance, knocking down four three-pointers and finishing with an outstanding 27 points. She consistently scored while being double-teamed and trapped on nearly every touch of the ball. Callie Sayles added two three-pointers and finished with 8 points. Emmary Carothers contributed 4 points, Brae Everett hit a key three-pointer, Meara McClure scored 3 points, and Laila Rotich added 2 points.
