Western Freshman Boys Basketball Takes Down Stockbridge
The Western Freshman Basketball team topped Stockbridge, 51-31, on Thursday, thanks to a quick start and some excellent 3-point shooting.
The Panthers started the game on a 14-0 run and never looked back. All 13 Panthers got extended minutes and everyone contributed.
Ethan Harris led the charge with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range, including four three-pointers in the first quarter. Harris also banked three rebounds and an assist on the game.
Western went 8-for-14 as a team from 3-point range for the contest, their most 3’s in a game for the season.
Logan Young put up 11 points and gashed Stockbridge with three steals, two rebounds and an assist.
Peyton Munz notched eight points to go with nine rebounds, two assists, a steal and a blocked shot.
Lincoln Warner dished out four assists, scored three points, swiped a steal and grabbed a rebound.
Carter O’Connell etched seven points and tallied two steals.
Keegan Snellenberger poured in four points to go with three rebounds and a blocked shot.
Colin Niemi recorded four rebounds and two steals.
Edan Mast knocked down a 3-pointer and collected three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Wyatt Griswold battled through multiple bloody noses to notch three rebounds and a steal.
Joel Toyer secured two rebounds and had another stellar defensive performance.
Owen Gaughan grabbed an offensive rebound, dished an assist and collected a steal.
Chaysten Stephenson pulled down two rebounds, swiped a steal and blocked a shot.
Alex Fausz nabbed two steals, and collected one assist and one offensive rebound.
Western returns to I8 Conference play next week when they travel to Harper Creek on Tuesday at 4pm. The Panthers are now 9-2 on the season.
