The Lady Panthers tipped off the new year with their first home game against the Marshall Red Hawks, and it was clear they were excited to be back on their home floor. That energy translated into a dominant performance as the Panthers cruised to a 54–22 victory.
Leading the way was Ellie Hackworth, who knocked down three big three-pointers and added another bucket. Maycee DeGroat and Izzy Smith followed closely behind with 10 points apiece. Lauren Nally also contributed offensively with a pair of threes and a basket.
The Panthers continued their dominance on the boards, out rebounding Marshall 29–15. The girls kept their energy high from start to finish and took control of the game on both ends of the floor. Their confidence from beyond the arc continues to grow as well, with five different players (Brandt, Vancalbergh, Hackworth, Gilbert and Nally) connecting on three-pointers in the win.
The Lady Panthers now have a week off before returning to action next Tuesday at home against Harper Creek.
Go Panthers!
