Western Panthers Dominate Laingsburg Wolfpack in 6-0 Victory
Laingsburg, MI — The Parma Western girls varsity soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Friday, May 16, shutting out the Laingsburg Wolfpack 6-0 on the road. The Panthers controlled the match from the opening whistle, showcasing sharp offensive execution and strong defensive play to secure their ninth win of the season.
Senior forward Claudia Allen led the scoring charge with two goals, while senior Nevaeh Hartshorn netted the game-winning goal in the 5th minute of the match. Madison Brandt, Kaydence Watson, and Rayah Hitt each added goals to contribute to the Panthers’ offensive attack.
Playmaker Lola Berdiner set up two goals with nice assists, while Allen, Watson, Emrick Boobyer, and Bella Miles each added an assist of their own, demonstrating Western’s well-rounded attack.
In net, Bria Frost was solid for the Panthers, making 8 saves and earning the clean sheet. Her poise helped anchor a defense that kept Laingsburg off the board all night.
Co-offensive players of the game honors went to Emrick Boobyer and Nevaeh Hartshorn for their energy and smart play on the ball.
With the victory, the Western Panthers improve to 9-7-1 on the season, while Laingsburg drops to 12-5-0.
The Panthers now turn their attention to Monday night, when they will host Grass Lake at the Panther Bowl. The match kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and will serve as Senior Night, celebrating the contributions of the team's graduating players.
