Western Varsity Girls Soccer Team Triumphs Over Hastings with 4-1 Victory

 

The Western Panthers girls varsity soccer team put on a commanding performance Thursday evening, defeating Hastings High School 4-1 in a fast-paced matchup that showcased the Panthers’ offensive firepower and defensive grit.

 

Western wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Just two minutes into the match, Kaydence Watson netted the opening goal, assisted by a crisp pass from Chloee Tyler. The Panthers kept the pressure on, scoring again in the fourth minute with Bella Miles finding the back of the net, thanks to an assist from Nevaeh Hartshorn.

 

The offensive momentum continued in the second half when Rayah Hitt scored Western’s third goal off a setup from Watson. Marina Walz closed out the scoring for the Panthers, converting a well-placed assist from Claudia Allen to make it 4-0. Hastings managed to sneak in a goal late in the game, but the outcome was already sealed.
The win boosts Western’s overall record to 6-5-0 and keeps them undefeated in conference play at 4-0-0.

 

Claudia Allen was named Offensive Player of the Game for her pivotal role in generating scoring opportunities, while Bella Miles earned Defensive Player of the Game honors for her strong performance on the back side of the midfield.
Up next, the Panthers will host Plymouth Christian Academy on Tuesday, May 6th, at 6:00 p.m. in what promises to be an exciting home matchup. The evening also marks the team’s annual Youth Night. All Western youth soccer players will receive free admission by wearing their team jersey or academy t-shirt and will have the special opportunity to walk out with a varsity player during the pre-game introductions.
