Western Boys defeated Coldwater, 107-67, and defeated Harper Creek, 118-57.
Western Girls defeated Harper Creek, 89-85, and defeated Coldwater, 118-39.
The Lady Panthers won a highly-contested meet against Harper Creek thanks to 16 personal best efforts and some gritty overall performances.
Zaviana Jackson put together three important efforts, winning the Long Jump (14’0”) and finishing second in the 800 Meter Run (2:42.72) and third in the 200 Meter Run (30.61).
Madisyn Blair won the 800 Meter Run (2:36.56) and the 1600 Meter Run (5:41.27) while Alivia Stahley won the 3200 Meter Run (13:52.65).
Kylie Vancalbergh had another strong afternoon, winning the 70 Meter Dash (9.87) and the Pole Vault (7’0”) and finishing second in the 200 Meter Dash (28.69).
Georgia Addleman was also instrumental in the Lady Panther victory. Addleman won the High Jump (4’6”) and helped anchor the winning 4x100 Meter Relay team (55.81) and 4x200 Meter Relay team (1:58.51).
Braelynn Schaffer matched Addleman’s output for the day, winning the 100 Meter Dash (14.55) and running with the winning 4x100 Meter Relay and 4x200 Meter Relay teams.
Bella Nowery and Mallie Backinger rounded out the winning 4x100 Meter Relay Team. Allie Coppernoll and Claire Kuhl were also part of the winning 4x200 Meter Relay Team. Backinger finished second in the Pole Vault (5’6”) and fourth in the 200 Meter Run (31.29). Coppernoll finished third in the Long Jump (13’0”). Nowery finished third in the Pole Vault (5’6”). Kuhl finished second in the Long Jump (13’3.5”) and third in the 400 Meter Dash (1:09.82).
Zachariah Akines finished second in the 55 Meter Hurdles (10.78) and fourth in the Long Jump (12’11.5).
Kiyami Eddy finished third in the 200 Meter Hurdles (38.49) and fourth in the High Jump (3’10”).
On the Boys side, Logan Young and Jett Archer led the sprinters to a huge afternoon. Young won the 100 Meter Dash (12.10) and the High Jump (5’0”). Archer won the Long Jump (17’11.5”) and the 70 Meter Dash (8.96). Young and Archer combined with Carter O’Connell and Dominique Galloway to win the 4x100 Meter Relay (47.81).
Galloway also finished second in the Long Jump (16’8”) and third in the 100 Meter Dash (13.16). O’Connell finished fourth in the Long Jump (14’9.5”).
Not to be outdone, the Western distance runners had a near-perfect afternoon. The 4x800 Meter Relay Team of Leland Sowle, Lucas Johnston, Josiah Rivera and Logan Cristian took first place with a time of 9:43.35.
Micah Good (57.93) and Cristian (59.20) went 1-2 in the 400 Meter Run.
Cristian (2:17.30), Sowle (2:20.20) and Rivera (2:24.06) went 1-2-3 in the 800 Meter Run.
Good (4:51.50) and Rivera (5:28.08) went 1-3 in the 1600 Meter Run.
Sowle (11:27.75), Leo Zhang (13:24.40) and Dexter Rice (15:06.17) went 1-2-3 in the 3200 Meter Run.
Alexander Fausz finished third in the 200 Meter Hurdles (30.84), third in the Pole Vault (6’6) and fourth in the 55 Meter Hurdles (10.39).
Derek Boldt finished third in the High Jump (4’10) and fourth in the 200 Meter Hurdles (31.06).
Christian Johnson (34’10”), Dawsyn Baker (34’5”) and James Harris (31’0”) went 2-3-4 in the Shot Put.
Wyatt Griswold took second in the High Jump at 4’10. Joel Toyer tied at third with Boldt in the High Jump at 4’10”. Ethan Robinson finished third in the Pole Vault at 6’6”.
The Boys team finished with 32 personal records set.
Both teams climbed to 5-0 on the season in head-to-head meets. Both teams run against Northwest at home on Wednesday.
