Bayli Stewart With 4 Hits As Western Panthers Beat Berrien Springs Varsity Shamrocks

Bayli Stewart collected four hits in four at bats, as Western Panthers defeated Berrien Springs Varsity Shamrocks 8-2 on Saturday. Stewart doubled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Western Panthers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kenadee Golas walked, and Maycee DeGroat grounded out, each scoring one run.

Western Panthers added one run in the second after Berrien Springs Varsity Shamrocks committed an error.

Western added one run in the third after Alyvia Ott singled to center field.

Amber Gregory earned the win for Western Panthers. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. 

Western Panthers amassed 14 hits in the game. Gregory, Ott, A'Kierra Sanders, Golas, Anna Benn, and DeGroat each drove in one run for Western Panthers. Mia Messer collected two hits for Western Panthers in three at bats. Golas, Benn, and Stewart each stole multiple bases for Western Panthers. Western Panthers ran wild on the base paths, collecting nine stolen bases for the game. Western Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Western Panthers Lose To Clinton Varsity Redwolves

Western Panthers could not keep pace with Clinton Varsity Redwolves 7-4 on Saturday.

Western Panthers opened the scoring in the second after Amber Gregory hit a solo home run to right field.

Ashlynn Benschoter singled to left field following a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Clinton Varsity Redwolves tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the third, Western Panthers broke up the tie when Bayli Stewart tripled, scoring one run. Then a single by Anna Benn followed to extend the lead to 3-1.

Clinton Varsity Redwolves jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Western Panthers committed an error, Taryn Hernandez singled to the left side of the infield, Lola Szczesniak doubled down the left field line, and Western Panthers committed an error, each scoring one run.

 
Gregory took the loss for Western. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on 10 hits, striking out six and walking one.

Western Panthers piled up 10 hits in the game. Gregory, Alyvia Ott, Kenadee Golas, and Stewart each collected two hits for Western Panthers. Gregory, Golas, Benn, and Stewart each drove in one run for Western Panthers.

The Panthers travel to Coldwater Tuesday for an I8 match up!
