The Panther varsity girls soccer team upped their conference record to 3-0 with a hard fought win over visiting Marshall Thursday night. It took just 13 minutes for the Panthers to get the early lead with a nice goal from Nevaeh Hartshorn. Madison Brandt sent her a perfect one touch pass that got Hartshorn in behind the defense. It wasn’t until the 63rd minute that Marshall was able to sneak a shot past goalkeeper Shelby Vivian. Tied, with six and half minutes left in the game, Rayah Hitt would get the game winner off a rebound from a Claudia Allen shot. Three minutes later Hitt would once again find the net off a second Allen assist putting the score to 3-1. Western outshot the Redhawks 10-3. Western will play at home next Monday against Brighton High School. Game time is 6:30.
