Western High School JVSB collected 15 hits and Grass Lake had four in the high-scoring affair.
Grass Lake got on the board in the top of the first inning.
Western High School JVSB tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Stiles, a single by Ava Buckland, and a triple by Taryn Sawyer.
Grass Lake took the lead in the top of the second. Scoring three runs, to give Grass Lake the edge, 7-4.
Western High School JVSB took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Anna Pohl singled to center field, Stiles doubled to center field, Ryleigh Wellman singled down the right field line, and Grass Lake committed an error, each scoring one run. Western collected 15 hits in the game. Yanovich and Buckland each collected three hits. Sawyer, Pohl, and Purucker each collected multiple hits. Yanovich, Sawyer, and Wellman each stole. Leading to a 20-9 win.
During game 2 Addi Yanovich drove in four runs on two hits to lead past Grass Lake 25-10 on Monday. Yanovich hit a home run to center field in the first inning, scoring three runs, and walked in the first inning, scoring one. Western flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring 17 runs on seven hits to take the lead, 17-4. Kaylee Benn doubled down the right field line, making the score 18-8. Western scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Kaileigh Stiles singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and an error scored two runs. Sidney Vanarman earned the win for Western High School JVSB. The pitcher allowed six hits and six runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking one.
Western jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Lanie Syrek singled, scoring one run, Yanovich singled, scoring one run, Anna Pohl singled, scoring one run, Stiles tripled, scoring three runs, Purucker singled, scoring one run, and Messer singled, scoring one run.
Purucker stepped in the circle first for Western High School JSB.
The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over three innings, striking out two and walking four.
