On Monday the girls hit the road for a matchup with the Cardinals of Coldwater. The offense took a little bit to warm up but after solid defense and a couple of baskets by Zavi Jackson and Claire Luke we were up 7-2 after the first quarter. The second quarter our offense opened up thanks in part to 3 baskets by Kiyami Eddy, and one each by Breslyn Walniewski, Peyton Meads, and Claire Luke. By halftime we had extended our lead to 19-8. The third quarter saw our fastbreak lead to baskets by Alivia Stahley, Whitney Parker, Zavi Jackson, Kiyami Eddy, and Claire Luke. Coldwater found their rhythm from 3 point range and was able to cut into our lead but we still held the lead 31-23 heading into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter proved to be a physical, defensive battle. We got a basket by Gracie Shrock and Claire Luke, as well as suffocating defense by Callie Patterson and Morgan Smith were able to keep their top scorers off their game. We were able to pull out the hard fought victory with a final score of 35-27.

 

Come out to the Middle School gym on Wednesday, as the girls look to close out the season on a winning note with a highly anticipated matchup with Pennfield.
