Happy Valentines Day to you and your families! ❤️
Last night, our Lady Panthers traveled to Marshall to take on the Redhawks on their home floor. Last time we played them, we worked hard against some of their JV players as well to get some points. The result was the same in this game. In the first quarter we tried our best to run plays and make things happen, but we were met with pressure and physical contact. We ended the first quarter 2-9. As we started to work a little bit better together we saw more opportunities for ourselves to bridge the scoring gap and ended the second quarter 8-17. In the second half our goal was to bridge the point gap, communicate about our plays on the court, and make accurate passes to eliminate some turnovers. We went out wanting to do just that. In the third quarter we had to fight through some foul trouble and try not to give them many points from that and ended the quarter with 11-24. The last quarter we truly saw each other and worked as a team to score. We saw the most options and hustled for each other, fought for each other, and kept our composure throughout the game. We ended the game with a loss 17-28, but we truly have it everything we had and we left it all in the floor. Sylvia Bivens led in scoring with 8 points, Raelynn Ahrens had 4 points, Suzanne St. John had 3 points and Carley Gilbert had 2 points. Our game on Tuesday against Jonesville was canceled due to a scheduling conflict, so please come and support us for our game on Thursday in Grand Ledge for (maybe) our last game this season. Thanks so much to all who traveled to see us play Marshall, we hope to see you again next week. Go Panthers! >
