Freshman Boys Basketball Battled Hastings

Western Freshman Boys Basketball lost at Hastings on Tuesday, 54-49.


 

Colin Savicke led all Panther scoring with 13 points to go with six steals, five rebounds, two blocked shots and an assist.


 

Western took a five-point lead into the fourth quarter, and led by a point with a minute to go, but could not get shots to fall down the stretch.  Hastings shot 8 for 17 on three-pointers, while the Panthers shot 7 of 24 from three.


 

Connor Wrozek had another offensive explosion with 11 points on 3 of 4 shooting from three, as well as collecting two rebounds and an assist.


 

Cam Fullerton scored 10 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot.


 

Jayce Thurman scored four points, collected six rebounds, blocked three shots, dished two assists and collected a steal.


 

Knox Archer scored five points, pulled down two offensive rebounds, grabbed a steal and dished an assist.


Bennett Schultz hit two three-pointers for six points, handled three steals, and chalked up a rebound and an assist.


Broyden Cole pulled down three rebounds and had an assist.


Nolan Robinson handled two rebounds and two assists.

 

Lucas VanRiper had two assists, one rebound and one steal.

 

Jake Johnston dished an assist.

 

Western fell to 2-13 on the season.  Western Freshmen Basketballl hosts three games to end the season, starting with Marshall on Thursday.
