The 7th Grade Girls A team made the trek over to JCMS to battle some familiar faces from Lumen Christi. The Panthers came out quickly and played good defense to take a 8-7 lead after the first quarter. The Titans were able to create some turnovers and won the second quarter 9-4. Down by four coming out of halftime the Panthers looked to even the score but ran into a cold stretch shooting, and LC was able to win the third quarter 6-0. Heading into the final quarter the girls continued to play good defense but couldn't get the ball to fall through the hoop. LC won the final quarter 9-1. While the girls didn't get the outcome they were hoping for, they played well defensively and continued to battle all night.

 

Western was led in scoring by Callie Patterson with 5 points, Claire Luke, and Morgan Smith chipped in with 4 points each. Zavi Jackson was a rebounding machine as she pulled down 7, with Whitney Parker and Callie Patterson pulling down 3 each as well.

We head to Northwest on Wednesday to avenge an early season loss, and then to Pennfield for a rescheduled match up from earlier this season. The girls continue to work hard and show grit, and will be fun to watch as we close out our season.
