Freshman Boys Basketball Drops Game to Okemos

Western Freshman Boys Basketball lost at Okemos, 45-25, on Friday.

 

Jayce Thurman scored four points to help lead the Panthers, and also added six rebounds, three blocked shots, one assist and one steal.

 

Western led by two at halftime thanks to arguably their best half of basketball of the season, but second half turnovers led to easy baskets and a third quarter deficit.

 

Broyden Cole had his best game of the season with two points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots.

 

Knox Archer scored three points and grabbed four rebounds to go with two assists, one steal and a blocked shot.


Lucas VanRiper dished three assists and snagged three rebounds.

 

Colin Savicke scored four points and pulled down three rebounds and a steal.


Cameron Fullerton scored two points, hauled in five rebounds, handed out two assists and grabbed a steal.

 

Connor Wrozek had a steal that he turned into a fast-break layup and completed the three-point-play with a free throw.


Trevor Brandt scored two points and added two rebounds.

 

Nolan Robinson also completed an And-One with a basket and a free throw.  Robinson dished an assist as well.

 

Jefferson Merrild scored two points.  Trey Payne played tough defense and had one rebound.

 

Nine of the 13 active Panthers scored points as Western fell to 2-9 on the season.  Western travels to Northwest to begin the second half of the conference schedule on Thursday.
