Western Freshman Boys Basketball lost at Battle Creek Pennfield, 39-36, on Thursday in an I-8 Conference matchup.
Cameron Fullerton led the Panthers with 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the floor. Fullerton also pulled down four rebounds, dished two assists and had a steal.
Nolan Robinson made two free throws with under a minute left in the game to tie the score at 36-36. After a Pennfield basket, Colin Savicke had a look at a three pointer in the closing seconds that rattled out, sending the Panthers to a 2-8 record.
Robinson ended with two points, six assists and two rebounds.
Savicke finished with four points and three rebounds.
Trevor Brandt scored five points to go with four rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot.
Jayce Thurman scored four points, grabbed two rebounds and dished an assist.
Lucas VanRiper conducted the offense and handled four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Knox Archer pulled down four rebounds and passed out two assists.
Broyden Cole scored two points, snagged an offensive rebound and reeled in a steal.
Connor Wrozek had three rebounds.
Western travels to Okemos next Friday for part of a triple-header with the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.
