A driving lay-in by Jayce Thurman tied the game at 48-48 with 2:00 left, helping Western erase a 7-point fourth quarter deficit.  Colin Savicke’s three-pointer at the buzzer fell just short, dropping the Panthers to 2-6 on the year.


Cameron Fullerton had his biggest game of the season, a 14-point outing that he garnished with three rebounds and a four-for-six effort from the free throw line.

 

Bennett Schultz scored 12 points on four-for-seven shooting from the three-point arc.  Schultz led Western in rebounding with four offensive boards and six overall.

 

Colin Savicke did a little of everything with six points, two rebounds, two blocked shots, one assist, and four steals, including a steal with :07 left that set up the last-second three-point attempt.

 

Nolan Robinson and Connor Wrozek each hit a three pointer.  Robinson had two assists, two steals and a rebound.  Wrozek had two offensive rebounds and an assist.


 

Lucas VanRiper helped run the offense with two points and four assists to go with two rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot.


Jayce Thurman ended with two points, four rebounds, one assist and a blocked shot.


Knox Archer scored two points, had three rebounds and two assists.

 

Trey Payne had his best outing of the season with two points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and a great defensive night.

 

Trevor Brandt scored two points and added a steal and a rebound.

 

The Panthers go on the road to play Marshall on Thursday.
