Last night we travelled all the way to Hastings to take on the Saxons. We came in with a positive mindset and aimed to play hard all the way through the game (no matter how exhausting that bus ride was). We came in with lower energy than we had hoped, but still did what we could to run our plays and get around the defense. We ended the first quarter tied 6-6. After taking many shots and missing those opportunities, our team lacked rebounding skills and had some foul trouble in the second quarter leading to a disparity in points. We ended the second quarter down 16-21. At the half we had three goals to go into the third quarter. We wanted to run our play correctly, play more aggressively on both offense and defense, and to know who we were actually guarding on defense. These goals were enough to get us and our mindset back on winning this game. We came out and took the third quarter 29-27. From there we continued to do all of the right things, and we worked together as a team to get the win. We ended the fourth up 35-29 for a well deserved win by the Freshman. Thank you to all of the supporters who drove all that way to watch us take home the W. Come see us play at home this Thursday @4:00 versus Marshall! Go Panthers!
Some stats from the game:
