Last night our Freshman girls took on the Lakeview Spartans at home for our first game since going on Winter break. We were actually super excited to play in the 59’ gym because it is our practice court and where we find ourselves most comfortable. We came in sharp and ready to make plays and run through them entirely. We started off the first half up 4-2 and continued tour impeccable defense and phenomenal game play into the second quarter. We went left the second half up 8-6. At the half we had three goals, to double our current score, continue to work hard and get steals on defense, and run the floor and help each other score on offense. We did exactly that in the third quarter and we were able to achieve all three of our halftime goals. We ended the third up 20-8. We continued to work hard and tried to get everyone some points on the board. We almost succeeded! We ended the game with a win and a final of 26-12! Tori Wielenga, Raelynn Ahrens, Veronica Allen, and Carley Gilbert all put up 2 points. Sylvia Bivens had 4, Addison Yanovich had 6, and Suzanne St. John had 8! Wonderful performances by all and thanks to everyone who came out to support us and cheer on our team! See you all next week as we travel to Hastings. Go Panthers!
