Western JV Lady Panthers traveled to Dexter High School to play the  Dreadnaughts Saturday afternoon.  

In the first quarter we played against a 2-3 zone for the first time and struggled to score.   We lost the first quarter 2-4.

The second quarter brought more struggles against the zone.  Keeping us in the game was Shelby Smith hitting 4 free throws, while MadDog Madi Redovich got going with 6 points.  We lost some composure on defense and lost the second quarter 8-14.  We scored those last 6 points late to bring the game within reach and took some momentum into the half.

The third quarter brought some balanced scoring with Shelby hitting 2 free throws and a bucket, Maycee DeGroat hitting a big bucket and A’Kierra Sanders chipping in another.  We played much better defense and won the quarter 8-7.

The 4^th quarter saw a furious comeback.  We executed some set plays and just played more complimentary offense.  The coaches challenged the team to rebound better this game and the girls came through.  With a minute left in the game we were down 1 but just couldn’t get enough shots to fall for the comeback.
