The Western High School  Gymnastics Team (Co-op with Hanover Horton) hosted the Jackson Area Gymnastics team (made up of 6 schools: Jackson High, Lumen Christi, Northwest, Napoleon, Grass Lake, and Concord) on Thursday evening and landed a historic win!!  

 

The scores were back and forth keeping everyone on the edge of their seats, and at the end of the night it was our Panthers taking the lead with a score of 131.825, and JAG close behind an even 131. 

 

 Starting with Vault we had Freshman, Brynn Miller taking 1st with 8.5 and we had a two way tie for 2nd between Junior, Sophie Robinson and Freshman, Emma Paquin with a score of 8.45.

 

 On bars we had Junior, Hannah Whiting take 1st with a score of 8.3 and Freshman, Layla Hull in 2nd with a 8.175 and in 3rd we had Freshman, Emma Paquin with a 7.95.

 

 On beam we had Junior, Sophie Robinson in 1st on beam with a 8.65. 

 

 Last off on floor we had Freshman, Emma Paquin in 1st with a 8.775 and in 2nd we had Freshman, Hannah Sorrow with a 8.425. Last but not least in 3rd place we had Junior, Sophie Robinson with a 8.4. 

 

 The Panthers had many regional qualifing scores too:

Vault: Laurel Clevenger-grimsley, Layla Hull, Zoe Magnusson, Kate Wojton, Lillian Coppernoll, Jayna Zenker, Hannah Whiting, and Shiloh Milnes. 

Bars: Sophie Robinson, Hannah Sorrow, and Taylor Paquin.

 Beam: Emi Miles, Zoe Magnusson, Brynn Miller, Hannah Sorrow, and Hannah Whiting.

 Floor: Layla Hull, Kate Wojton, Lillian Coppernoll, Jayna Zenker, Zoe Ruiz, and Hannah Whiting. 

 

 In 1st for All-Around we had Junior, Sophie Robinson with an even 33 (new PR!!) In 3rd we had Freshman, Emma Paquin with a 32.725. Last but not least in 4th we had Junior, Hannah Whiting with a 32.5.

Thank you to all the supporters on both teams! The energy kept the gymnasts going and motivated!
