Western JV Lady Panthers played the Harper Creek Beavers in the Den on Wednesday.

In the first quarter we came out as a team sluggish.  We had some vital free throws from MadDog Madi Redovich, who went 3-4 in the first 3 minutes of the game and another basket.  We won the first Quarter 9-4.

The second quarter brought a little more energy.  We started to run some offense and really picked up ball pressure with Jill Barnes glued to the point guard and A’Kierra Sanders applying a lot of pressure.  We won the quarter 8-4.

The third quarter was filled with energy, as we really wanted to finish the game the right way.  We ran more offense and broke the press scoring points.  Shelby Smith scored a three and MadDog Redovich kept the offense on track.  Ava Buckland scored a basket along with Ellie Hackworth.  We won the quarter 15-9.

The fourth quarter saw key Panthers off the bench to hold the lead.  Gianna Hageman, Imari Hicks and Sophie Gienapp all contributing to solid defense.  The leading the panthers was  A’Kierra Sanders scoring a basket and Maycee DeGroat scoring one as well and going 1-2 from the line.  We lost the quarter 9-11.

We won the game 41-28 pulling to 3-1 on the season.

The Lady Panthers keep getting better each day.  We are off until January 3rd where we will play Battle Creek Lakeview at home.
