Freshman Boys Defeats Northwest

Western Freshman Boys Basketball defeated Northwest, 42-32, on Thursday.


Colin Savicke led the Panthers with 15 points, 13 of which came in the third quarter.  Savicke hit three third-quarter three-pointers, and snagged 5 rebounds to go with three steals.

 

Western trailed, 13-11, at halftime before erupting with 21 third quarter points.

 

Bennett Schultz scored eight points, including two three-pointers, and handled one rebound.

 

Jayce Thurman scored four points to go with seven rebounds and three assists.

 

Trey Payne scored two points and added three assists, three steals and a rebound.

 

Jake Johnston scored two points and had two steals.

 

Cameron Fullerton scored five points, grabbed five rebounds, and collected an assist and a steal.

 

Lucas VanRiper collected three steals, two rebounds and an assist.

 

Nolan Robinson scored four points, handled two rebounds, dished an assist and blocked a shot.

 

Knox Archer grabbed three rebounds, dished two assists and had one steal.


Connor Wrozek scored two points and had one assist and one rebound,


Trevor Brandt secured three rebounds, had two steals and an assist.

 

Broyden Cole grabbed a rebound.

 

The Panthers are now 2-2 on the season.  Western travels to Harper Creek to play on Wednesday and then meets Tecumseh at home on Thursday.
