The Lady Panthers took a long bus ride to take on a spunky Lake Fenton team. The first quarter we struggled to get anything going. We lost the first quarter 4-12. The second quarter wasn’t much better on the offensive side, but we did get a little traction on the defensive side of the ball. We lost the second quarter 5-6. We found energy and resilience coming out of the locker room determined to get the ship right. We won the third quarter 14-9 with better shot selection and aggression on the boards. Madi (MadDog) Redovich led the way in the third quarter with 5 points. The fourth quarter we found some intensity and desire to finish. We stormed back with Shelby Smith leading the way with 8 of her 10 points. We had to hold on with all we had to a 5 point lead that dwindled to a 1 point lead in the final minute. We learned a lot about ourselves and continued to get better. We rebounded like young women on fire in the second half with Maycee DeGroat, Shelby Smith and Ellie Hackworth dominating the boards, which in the end, was the difference in the game.
We will be back on the road Friday where we will be excited and ready to play against our rival Northwest.
