Western Freshman Boys Basketball defeated Chelsea, 40-29, on Tuesday.
The Panthers were led by Jayce Thurman with 13 points and four rebounds. Thurman also had a steal and a blocked shot, and went 3 of 5 on three-pointers.
Western led, 13-9, after the first quarter and shut out the Bulldogs in the second quarter, en route to a 22-9 halftime lead.
Colin Savicke scored 11 points to go with five rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Cameron Fullerton scored six points on 3 of 4 shooting, to go with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and a blocked shot.
Knox Archer scored five points and added six rebounds and two assists.
Lucas VanRiper did a little of everything with two assists, two steals, two rebounds and a blocked shot.
Nolan Robinson dished out three assists and added a rebound and a blocked shot.
Connor Wrozek scored two points and had one rebound, one assist and one steal.
Bennett Schultz hit a three pointer and swiped two steals to go with a rebound and a blocked shot.
Trey Payne grabbed an offensive rebound and collected two steals and an assist.
Jake Johnston and Carson Orchard each had an assist. Trevor Brandt had a steal.
The Western Freshman Boys Basketball team now sits at 1-2 on the season and play their first home game of the season against Northwest on Thursday.
