Varsity Girls Basketball Opens Season with Big Win

The Panthers (1-0) squared off with Grand Rapids West Catholic (1-1) Friday night in the Den. Western took an early lead behind their defense and an early hot streak from Junior, Rayah Hitt. West Catholic tried to close the gap in the second half, but never got closer than 9 points. The Panthers held their lead behind timely baskets from many different players. Western's pair of Juniors lead the way for the Panthers offensively. Rayah Hitt finished with 30 points and 7 rebounds. Aubree Allen finished with a double-double, 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Panthers travel to Lake Fenton on Tuesday for another non-league contest.
