Updated on 11/15/2024

The Western Varsity Volleyball team played in the I8 Tournament this past weekend at Hastings.  The Panthers started out as the third seed in tournament play. In the first game, they played Northwest coming out victorious in 2 sets, 25-15 and 25-15.  This put them up against the number two seed Coldwater who they had fallen to earlier in the season in a hard fought match. The Panthers came out ready to play but fell short in the first set 23-25. In the second set, Western came away with the victory 25-18.  The last set would decide the match. They struggled in the beginning with nothing going their way but point by point, they closed the gap and came out on top 16-14.  This put them in the finals against #1 ranked Harper Creek.  The Panthers fought hard but fell in three 16-25, 16-25 and 12-25. Western ended up with a second place finish overall in the I8 to Harper Creek.
