Middle School Girls Cross Country
Girls MHSAA Regional, Zone 2 at Hudson, 10/19/2024
Madisyn Blair and Mackenzie Greenslade finished first and second at the Girls Regional Cross Country meet at Hudson on Saturday. Blair (8th grade, 12;25.7) won her eighth race this season, leading the Lady Panthers to a team Regional title as well. Greenslade, a sixth grader, set her personal best time with a 12:44.3 to help lead Western to a Regional championship.
Western scored a perfect 15 points in team competition for the Divison 1-2 Regional group, and 30 points for the overall, both of which were first place efforts. Alivia Stahley (7th grade, 13:08.7, 5th place), Laila Rotich (6th grade, 13:32.7, 10th) and Ella Hammond (8th grade, 13:38.7, 15th) rounded out the scoring for Western.
Phoebe Gin (8th grade, 15:00.7, 42nd) and Phoebe Miller (7th grade, 16:30.7, 77th) were the other upperclassmen to finish for Western.
The rest of the Lady Panther field was composed of sixth graders.
Katelee Carothers finished 18th with a time of 13:52.6. Alivia Pluta (14:34.1, 33rd), Adalynn Newton (15:02.4 44th), and Morgan Brandt (15:03.5, 45th) all finished in the top 50.
Other sixth grade finishers included Brooke Ennis (15:19.1, 51st), Alexys Blair (15:34.3, 60th), Jules Smith (15:49.8, 65th), Adelyn Breneman (16:28.5, 75th), Emma Decker (16:31.9, 78th), Tessa Wyman (17:14.6, 87th), Ava Dawson (18:39.1, 105th) and Laynie Sawyer (21:51.7, 116th).
The Lady Panthers finished the season by winning their last three meets.
