Middle School Boys Cross Country

Boys MHSAA Regional, Zone 2 at Hudson, 10/19/2024


 

Micah Good ran a 10:39.5 at the Boys Regional Cross Country meet at Hudson on Saturday, leading the Panthers to a team Regional championship.  Good, an eighth grader, broke the Western Middle School record in the process, beating the record he set the previous week.


 

Fellow eighth grader Logan Christian finished second with a time of 10:42.1.  Leland Sowle (8th grade, 11:07.9, 3rd place), Josiah Rivera (8th grade, 11:17.3, 4th) and Landon Koch (8th grade, 11:19.9, 5th) rounded out the top five for the meet, helping Western score a perfect 15 in the overall meet and in the Division 1-2 portion of the Regional.


 

Ten Western runners finished in the top 50 in a field of 19 teams on Saturday.


 

Ben Greenslade led the Western seventh graders, finishing 24th with a time of 12:36.2.  Sawyer Macomber (8th grade, 12:48.2, 28th) and Leo Zhang (7th grade, 12:49.0, 29th place) were next in line, followed by Jacob Kubish (7th grade, 13:19.3, 41st) and William McCormick (8th grade, 13:27.0, 46th).


 

C.J. Gingras (13:33.5, 51st) and Cormac Heath (13:34.4, 52nd) were the other seventh grade finishers for Western.  Griffin Baker (14:07.0, 77th) was the other eighth grade finisher.


 

The Western sixth grade runners were led by Quentin Woods who finished 53rd with a time of 13:35.8.  Other Western sixth grade runners included Liam Rivera (13:48.0, 59th), Titus Clanton (13:52.1, 62nd), Wesley Nierer (14:17.4, 83rd), Evan Paksi (14:18.8, 84th), Ben Hammond (14:43.8, 91st) and Xavier Flores (17:40.8, 139th).


 

The Western Boys Middle School Cross Country team ended their season, winning eight of nine meets, and a second place finish at the Portage Invitational.
