JV Volleyball Battles to 4-0 in Bracket Play at Chelsea
Updated on 11/15/2024

The JV Volleyball team competed in the Chelsea Invite Saturday along with 15 other very talented teams. The Panthers started their morning ready to work against Ann Arbor Pioneer winning both sets 25-15 and 25-18 giving the team a much needed confidence boost. Next, Western faced Okemos again taking both sets 25-11 and 25-17. The last game of pool play was against Jackson High who we have played in prior tournaments. The Panthers walked away with two more wins ending 25-11 and 25-12. All four pools had a team go 4-0 in pool play, like us, however the Panthers came out on top due to points and took the number 1 seed in bracket play. After the break to determine brackets, Western was unable to find their energy and groove again and lost the first set to Napoleon 21-25. In the second set we lacked our positive mindset we gained in pool play and lost 20-25. Many positive things came out of the day including regaining a winning mindset, players stepping up in new positions, and playing through adversity with missing teammates.
