Logan Cristian, Micah Good and Leland Sowle finished first, second and third at the I-8 Conference Meet on Thursday, leading the Western Middle School Boys Cross Country team to a first place finish.  The three eighth graders ran times of 11:13.6, 11:13.6 and 11:32.6, helping Western score 18 team points and win the Conference title.  

Eighth graders Josiah Rivera and Landon Koch finished fifth and seventh with times of 11:44.2 and 12:04.7 to round out the scoring for the Panthers.  Western ended with 18 total team points.

Ben Greenslade (12:59.9) and Leo Zhang (13:21.3) led the Western seventh graders, finishing 11th and 14th.

Sawyer Macomber (8th grade, 13:29.6) and William McCormick (8th grade, 14:09.2) both cracked the top 25, finishing 18th and 25th.  Quentin Woods (14:37.0, 42nd), Liam Rivera (14:44.7, 46th), Titus Clanton (14:51.5, 47th) and Ben Hammond (14:59.3, 50th) led the sixth graders and all broke the 15:00 mark.

Other eighth grade finishers for Western included Griffin Baker (14:32.2, 39th), Brayden Watts (16:47.1, 74th) and Logan Newton (17:01.0, 76th).

Seventh grade finishers for Western included Jacob Kubish (14:10.2, 27th), Cormac Heath (14:17.3, 35th), C.J. Gingras (14:36.7, 41st), Colten Frederick (16:13.2, 67th), Nicolas Shaw (16:15.4, 68th), Dexter Rice (16:17.3, 69th), Ronan Brown (17:52.5, 87th), Jack O’Dowd (17:57.8, 88th), and Ethan Gienapp (18:17.4, 89th).

Sixth grade finishers included Evan Paksi (15:07.3, 53rd), Wes Nierer (16:04.6, 64th), Nathan Bowser (17:33.3, 81st), Xavier Flores (18:43.2, 90th) and Lennon Shelton (21:37.9, 106th).

The Western Boys Middle School Cross Country team finishes their season at the Regional meet in Hudson on Saturday.
