Last Friday, the Panthers and Mounties met at Northwest and the Panthers came out on top, with a score of 44-31. Jayden Willis got the Panthers on the board early with a huge TD run on the Panthers’ second play from scrimmage. Reed Myers led the passing attack on the night with a scoring toss to DJ VanRiper. VanRiper had one TD and three receptions for 59 yards on the night. The rushing attack carried the Panthers on the night with the offensive line opening up some huge holes for the Panther running backs. Overall, Willis had 16 carries for 205 yards and a TD, while Zayd Coats also had a big game with 8 carries for 60 yards and two TDs. Willis also scored a couple of two point conversions and had a big interception return for a TD. Defensively, the Panthers were led by Luke Bergkoetter with 11 tackles and Denton Broadworth with 10 tackles. Cole Archer had 7 tackles, 1 QB sack and 2 TFLs. This week, the Panthers host the Vikings of Haslett for a non-league contest.
