Last night our Lady Panthers travelled to Northwest to take on our rival team. We started off strong with several aces, perfect passes, positive attitudes, and an unmatched bout out teamwork on the court. Our team pulled ahead, and got comfortable, allowing the Mounties to gain back some points at the end of the first set. We ended up losing the first set towards the end due to some front row mistakes (21-25). However, we did not let this get us down. We kept our heads up and worked our butts off to get a win in the second set, as we had already beat Northwest at the Tecumseh Quad, we knew we could take them. In the second set, everything came together, we began to utilize our passes and get our hitters swinging up front. We had more and more aces, and we used determination and fervent energy to come back from a 24-19 score to beat the Mounties in the second set 29-27. In the third set we continued to keep our heads high and knew we had to work even harder to get the win in the last set. Our continuously great passes in the back row allowed us to set up a couple of our hitters, but not as many times as we needed to secure the win. With great teamwork, perseverance, and the teamwork our team has been trying to get down for months, we did everything we could to beat Northwest. We ended up losing in a very close last set 12-15. I can not commend these girls enough for how they played together last night, without fear, and without regret. This is something we have been working towards for a long time, and to see them come together on the court was a great sight to see. We are sad to take a loss from a team we beat earlier in the season, but we are excited to see what the next game holds for us!
