Madisyn Blair won the Western TopRun Invitational on Tuesday with a time of 12:22.3 to lead the Lady Panthers to a first place team finish with 37 team points.  Blair, an eighth grader, won the race for the sixth time in seven races this year.


 

MacKenzie Greenslade (6th grade, 13:09.7) set a personal best and finished 5th, helping give Western the points boost it needed to take the title.  Ella Hammond (8th grade, 13:42.7) finished 9th, Alivia Stahley (7th grade, 13:52.4) finished 11th, and Laila Rotich (6th grade, 14:02.4) finished in 15th place to round out the scoring for Western.  All five took home top-20 medals.


 

Eighth grader Phoebe Gin finished 36th with a time of 15:08.4, and seventh grader Phoebe Miller ran a 16:11.5 to finish 54th.


 

The rest of the Lady Panther field was sixth graders.  Katelee Carothers finished 25th at 14:29.4, Alivia Pluta finished 35th at 15:02.2, Adalynn Newton finished 37th at 15:14.7, Morgan Brandt finished 41st at 15:54.9, Brooke Ennis finished 44th at 16:00.3 and Alexys Blair finished 467th at 16:02.6.


 

Fellow sixth graders Adelyn Breneman (16:19.3) finished 56th, Jules Smith (16:43.4) finished 63rd, Emma Decker (17:04.2) finished 75th, Tessa Wyman (17:41.3) finished 79th and Ava Dawson (19:14.8) finished 93rd for Western.


 

The Western Girls Middle School Cross Country team runs next week at the I-8 Conference Meet at Hastings on Thursday.
