Micah Good ran a 10:37.0 to win the Western TopRun Invitational on Tuesday, breaking the school record in the process on Tuesday. Good finished first, leading the team to a first place finish with 20 total team points.
Logan Cristian finished in second place, also beating his personal best time with a time of 10:40.5. Both eighth graders bested Cristian’s school record set earlier this season.
Eighth graders Leland Sowle (11:08.9), Josiah Rivera (11:25.8) and Landon Koch (11:32.8) rounded out the scoring for Western, finishing fourth, sixth and seventh respectively. All five eighth graders won top-20 medals.
Leo Zhang (12:57.1) led all Western 7th graders, earning a top-20 medal at 17th place. Sawyer Macomber (8th grade, 13:18.6, 23rd), William McCormick (8th grade, 13:42.5, 29th), Jacob Kubish (7th grade, 13:49.7, 36th), Quentin Woods (6th grade, 14:00.8, 39th) and Cormac Heath, 14:11.6, 44th) all finished in the top 50.
Eighth grade finishers for Western also included Griffin Baker (15:12.7, 67th), Brayden Watts (15:54.6, 76th), Logan Newton (16:51.3, 93rd) and Elliot Lopeman (22:58.4, 137th).
Other seventh grade finishers included C.J. Gingras (14:40.0, 59th), Dexter Rice (17:02.1, 98th), Ronan Brown (17:04.9, 99th), Nicolas Shaw (17:11.1, 103rd), Colten Frederick (17:23.9, 107th), Jack O’Dowd (18:12.0, 117th), Ethan Gienapp (18:13.1, 118th) and Aydan Garca (24:21.4, 140th).
Sixth grade finishers also included Wesley Nierer (14:34.3, 53rd), Liam Rivera (14:34.8, 54th), Titus Clanton (14:38.8, 58th), Ben Hammond (14:40.4, 60th), Evan Paksi (15:24.1, 73rd), Xavier Flores (17:06.9, 100th), Nathan Bowser (17:55.6, 112th) and Bradley Mattis (19:44.8, 129th)
The Panthers run again next week on Thursday at the I-8 Conference District race at Hastings.
