Middle School Girls Cross Country
Portage Invitational 2.5K, 10/5/2024
Madisyn Blair earned a fifth place finish in the Portage Invitational 2.5K Division 2 Varsity race on Saturday with a time of 9:26.9. Blair, an eighth grader, helped the Lady Panthers secure a 5th place team finish with 158 team points.
Mackenzie Greenslade (6th grade, 10:16.7) finished in 22nd place, also earning a top-30 medal for Western. Ella Hammond (8th grade, 10:35.6) finished in 35th place, Alivia Stahley (7th grade, 10:45.0) landed in 45th place, and Laila Rotich (6th grade, 10:56.6) finished in 59th place to complete the scoring for Western.
Katelee Carothers (6th grade, 11:14.1, 64th place) and Alivia Pluta (6th grade, 11:53.5, 98th place) also completed the Varsity race for the Lady Panthers.
Adalynn Newton (6th grade) ran a 11:40.9 to finish 16th in the JV race, and help Western pin down a 5th place team finish with 130 team points. Fellow 6th graders Morgan Brandt (11:42.3) and Brooke Ennis (11:52.5) finished 17th and 21st. Phoebe Miller (7th grade, 12:27.6, 38th place) and Alexys Blair (6th grade, 12:29.8, 40th place) finished the scoring for Western.
Other finishers for Western were Adelyn Breneman (6th grade, 12:51.6, 53rd place), Tessa Wyman (6th grade, 14:15.4, 98th place) and Ava Dawson (6th grade, 15:11.5, 120th place).
The Western Girls Middle School Cross Country team runs Tuesday at home in the Top Run Invitational.
