Middle School Boys Cross Country

Portage Invitational 2.5K, 10/5/2024

Logan Cristian won the Portage Invitational 2.5K Division 2 Varsity race on Saturday with a time of 8:12.4.  Micah Good (8:27.5) finished fourth, and Leland Sowle (8:39.6) finished 10th to help lead the Panthers to a 2nd place team finish with 38 team points.

Landon Koch (8:45.5) finished 13th and Josiah Rivera (8:49.9) finished 15th to round out the scoring for Western.  All five 8th graders received top-30 medals.

Seventh graders Ben Greenslade (9:54.4) and Leo Zhang (9:57.2) also competed in the varsity race, finishing 49th and 54th.

William McCormick (8th grade) finished 7th in the Division 2 JV race with a time of 10:10.3, helping the JV squad finish 2nd overall with 67 team points.  Seventh grader Jacob Kubish (10:14.1) finished 9th and eighth grader Sawyer Macomber (10:25.7) finished 13th.  Seventh grader Cormac Heath (10:29.1) finished 14th and sixth grader Quentin Woods (10:53.3) finished the scoring for Western at 24th place.

Other finishers for Western included Brayden Watts (8th grade, 10:57.4, 28th place), C.J. Gingras (7th grade, 11:02.5, 31st place), Liam Rivera (7th grade, 11:06.0, 33rd place), Titus Clanton (6th grade, 11:08.3, 35th place), Ben Hammond (6th grade, 11:34.1, 48th place), Evan Paksi (6th grade, 11:54.8, 53rd place), Logan Newton (8th grade, 12:15.1, 64th place), Dexter Rice (7th grade, 12:27.8, 70th place), Wes Nierer (6th grade, 12:34.7, 71st place), Xavier Flores (6th grade, 12:58.8, 76th place), Jack O’Dowd (7th grade, 13:03.8, 81st place), Nicholas Shaw (7th grade, 13:10.5, 83rd place), Ethan Gienapp (7th grade, 13:18.4, 85th place), Nathan Bowser (6th grade, 13:56.6, 91st place) and Elliot Lopeman (8th grade, 17:41.7, 101st place).

The Western Boys Middle School Cross Country team runs on Tuesday at home at the Top Run Invitational.
