Madisyn Blair won the I-8 Jamboree race at Marshall on Tuesday with a time of 12:45.0 to lead the Lady Panthers to a 2nd place team finish. Blair has now won all five races she has started this season.
Western 6th graders Mackenzie Greenslade (14:03.6) and Laila Rotich (14:08.4) finished 5th and 7th respectively. Eighth grader Ella Hammond (14:25.3) finished 9th and seventh grader Alivia Stahley (14:45.3) finished 16th to round out the scoring for Western. The Panthers finished with 38 team points on the day.
Sixth graders Katelee Carothers (15:04.3) and Alivia Pluta (15:38.6) finished 22nd and 29th respectively. Fellow sixth graders Adalynn Newton (16:10.4, 39th) and Brooke Ennis (16:15.3, 42nd) also made the top 50.
Eighth grader Phoebe Gin (16:10.3, 38th) also cracked the top 50 for Western.
All 20 Lady Panthers finished in a field of 130 runners.
Morgan Brandt (16:51.2, 55th), Alexis Blair (17:04.4, 60th) and Adelyn Breneman (17:07.1, 62nd) were the next three Western sixth graders to finish. Seventh grader Phoebe Miller (17:16.5) finished 64th.
The Western Girls Middle School Cross Country team runs again on Saturday at the Portage Invitational.
