Eighth graders Micah Good (11:01.6), Logan Cristian (11:02.7) and Leland Soule (11:09.8) finished first, second and third at the I-8 Jamboree on Tuesday, leading the Western Boys Cross Country team to a team victory. The Panthers ended up with 18 team points on the day to win their second conference jamboree of the season.
Fellow eighth graders Josiah Rivera (11:54.0, 5th) and Landon Koch (12:10.7, 7th) rounded out the scoring for Western.
All 32 Western runners finished the race in a field of 108 athletes.
Ben Greenslade (13:23.4) and Leo Zhang (13:51.1) led the Western 7th Graders, finishing 12th and 17th respectively. Jacob Kubish (14:39.3, 32nd), Cormac Heath (14:44.9, 35th) and C.J. Gingras (15:07.1, 41st) were the other Western 7th graders to crack the top 50.
Eighth graders William McCormick (13:54.4, 18th), Sawyer Macomber (14:32.1, 30th) and Griffin Baker (14:43.7, 34th) were also top 50 finishers.
Quentin Woods led the Panther 6th graders, finishing 40th with a time of 14:58.3. Liam Rivera (15:32.8, 48th), Titus Clanton (15:34.5, 49th) and Ben Hammond (15:36.5, 50th) also cracked the top 50 as 6th graders.
The Western Boys Cross Country Team travels to Portage on Saturday for the Portage Invitational.
