The Western boys tennis team competed in the I-8 Conference Tournament on Thursday hosted by Northwest and Parma Western. Some impressive matchplay from the boys including sophomore Lucas Parrott  winning the 1st singles flight while only losing 2 games. Junior #2 singles Jack Slisher battled in a 2.5 hour match against Coldwater to secure a top 4 finish. #3 singles junior Aidan Carter won both of his matches to win the 3rd singles flight. 1st doubles pairing of seniors Morgan Devine and Dylan Rogers came back to win a 3rd set against Coldwater to win the 1st doubles flight. 2nd doubles pairing Jack Mannor and Bailee Porter were smooth in their matches to secure the 2nd doubles flight champion. 3rd doubles pairing of Connor Chilson and Alex Bennett lost the first set in the championship match but battled back to win a tiebreak in the second set and dominate in the third set to win the 3rd doubles flight. 

 

The boys tennis team are conference champions for the fourth straight year. This week will be busy with away matches Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday, seniors Connor Chilson, Dylan Rogers and Morgan Devine will be honored before a scrimmage with Jackson Northwest. Saturday, Western will compete in a quad with Jackson Lumen Christi, Richland Gull Lake and Jackson High.
