Last night our Freshman Girls Volleyball team travelled to Coldwater to take on the RedHawks for their game to support those who fought or are battling cancer. What a wonderful opportunity to be involved in such a great cause. When it came to our game, we were absolutely ready to play with grit, tenacity, and intensity. Coming off of a difficult loss to St. John’s, we practiced the things we needed to change for our game against Coldwater. We knew that we needed to fix our energy and bond on the court and use each other to be successful instead of separate and play scared when things got tough. This team did exactly that. They not only worked together as a team, and had energy, but they put on the best display of teamwork and dedication and desire to win that I have seen from them all season. They knew what needed to be done and they pushed themselves to the limit, gaining a win that they all needed and deserved. We lost the first set 20-25 and tactically worked to beat Coldwater in the next two sets. We took a win in the second set with a score of 25-21. We were able to keep our hopes and spirits high to take home the win in the last set 15-9. When you see these girls congratulate them on the victory and the stellar performance they put on, leaving everything out on that court. Here are some noteworthy performances:

Audrina Bisonet: 4 serves, 1 ace, 6 digs, 3 attacks, and 1 kill. 

Ryleigh Wellman: 6 serves, 7 digs, 7 attacks, 3 kills, and 1 block. 

Lakelee Ojeda: 3 blocks, 8 serves, 1 ace, 1 dig, and 15 attacks, 7 of which were kills.

Alyvia Ott: 7 serves, 12 digs.

Kate Wojton: 2 attacks, 1 kill.

Ryella Murphy: 2 digs.

Peyton Miskowski: 1 serve, 9 attacks, 3 kills, 1 block, and 1 dig.

Mia Manor: 2 serves, 1 ace, 1 backrow attack, and 4 digs.

Chloey Berkeypile: 5 serves, 1 ace, 10 assists, and 2 digs.

Addisyn Brown: 5 serves, 2 aces, and 10 assists.

Addison Yanovich: 11 serves, 3 aces, 2 kills, 4 digs.
