Last night our Lady Panthers had a Tri at home. We played two teams, Hillsdale, and St. Johns. We played Hillsdale in our first game, and after getting used to a new rotation, we were able to settle in after the first set and take care of business. We were confident with our serves and hits in the second set, leading us to a victory over Hillsdale. We lost that first set 18-25, but came back to win the second (25-16) and the third (15-6). Ryleigh Wellman (14 serves), Laklee Ojeda (5 serves), and Alyvia Ott (11 serves) were our top servers in that game. Kaitie Knack and Laklee Ojeda each had 2 kills in that game as well. In our game against St. Johns we were able to come in strong with several kills and Alyvia Ott led the servers with 11 serves total. Ryleigh Wellman had 8 hits, 4 of which were kills. Peyton Miskowski had a kill and we had some great digs in this game as well: Mia Manor had 3, Addison Yanovich had 3, Alyvia Ott had 5, and Audrina Bisonet had 2. Kaitie Knack had 2 blocks and Laklee Ojeda and Ryleigh Wellman both had an assisted block. Even with these stellar performances, we fell short to St. Johns in the first set losing 23-25. We wanted to come back and win the second set, but we let them get too far ahead in the beginning (starting our game down 0-7) and were unable to dig ourselves out of such a big hole. We did however fight to get back every point that we lost. We performed a lot better in our second set this game than we did against Hastings last week. Our girls were able to work together a little bit more this time, as a team. This is one of the things we will continue to work on for our game against Coldwater. Come support us away at Coldwater! Go Panthers!
