Micah Good ran a 10:43.6 to win the Jackson Invitational and lead the Western Middle School Boys Cross Country team to a first place finish on Friday.
Good, Logan Cristian (10:47.9), Leland Sowle (11:11.5), Josiah Rivera (11:40.7) and Landon Koch (12:04.2) finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 15th respectively, scoring 27 team points and securing the team victory. All five eighth-graders finished with personal records.
Sawyer Macomber (13:23.1, 57th place), Griffin Baker (14:18.8, 84th), Brayden Watts (16:13.3, 160th) and Logan Newton (16:29.1, 165th) rounded out the rest of the eighth grade class, all of whom finished with personal best times.
Twenty-four Panthers ran career-best race times on the day.
Ben Greenslade (13:16.0, 52nd place), Leo Zhang (13:34.2, 63rd), Jacob Kubish (13:42.1, personal record, 68th), Chad Gingras (14:19.9, personal record, 85th) and Cormac Heath (14:21.4, 87th) led the seventh graders for Western.
The Western sixth-graders were led by Quentin Woods (14:27.6, personal record, 94th place), Titus Clanton (14:58.1, personal record, 114th), Liam Rivera (15:04.7, personal record, 116th) and Ben Hammond (16:04.8, personal record, 156th).
All 29 Panther runners finished the race in a field of 262 runners, with rainy and cool conditions.
The Western Middle School Boys Cross Country team returns to Ella Sharp Park on Thursday to run in the Parkside Invitational.
