Madisyn Blair ran a time of 13:18.7 to win the Girls Cross Country I-8 Conference Jamboree race, and help Western finish 2nd as a team on Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers finished with 33 team points, just nine points off the lead.
Alivia Stahley finished 4th in the race with a time of 14:28.1, leading all Western 7th graders.
Ella Hammond ran a time of 15:01.4 and finished 7th.
Six Lady Panthers finished in the top 20, including sixth-graders Mackenzie Greenslade (9th place, 15:08.4), Laila Rotich(12th place, 15:22.5) and Alivia Pluta (20th place, 15:59.7).
All 18 Western runners finished the run in a race with 125 runners.
Morgan Brandt (36th, 17:20.8), Brooke Ennis (40th, 17:35.7), Adalynn Newton (41st, 17:36.9) and Katelee Carothers (50th, 17:57.8) all cracked the top 50 finishers for Western.
The Western Middle Schools Girls Cross Country team heads to Ella Sharp Park next Friday to compete in the Jackson High Invitational.
