On Friday the 6th, the Panthers made the long bus trip up to Traverse City to take on the Trojans of Traverse City Central HS.
The Panthers came away with a huge 30-20 victory! In the first half, the defense and special teams kept the Panthers close
until a Maverick Hammond TD reception from Brody Videto gave the Panthers the lead going into halftime, 7-6. After half,
the Panthers got on the scoreboard again with a long run by Jayden Willis and a 28 yard field goal by Noah Berdiner. The
defense stepped up time and time again, getting interceptions by Hammond, DJ VanRiper and a fumble recovery by Cole
Archer. The scoring for the Panthers was finished on two more touchdown receptions by Hammond. For the game, Videto
finished the game passing 7/15 for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Hammond finished with 5 catches for 129 yards and
three touchdowns. Willis led the rushing attack with 8 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Archer had a
monster game with 10 tackles, 2 QB sacks, 5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. VanRiper led the secondary with 2
interceptions. This game was a great team victory with numerous players stepping up in their role within the team and
supporting each other. This week, the RedHawks of Marshall come to town and it is our Youth Night. Let’s go 1-0 this
