Our Freshman football team started their season with a home contest vs Dewitt high school, through the first few possessions there were quick 3 and outs by Both teams, as the first half went on our young freshman team found ourselves down due to a few mistakes and some poor tackling.
As the second half got underway our team did a good job of staying focused and working to get themselves on the right track. The game didn’t end as we would have hoped as we lost our season opener, but there were some bright spots along the way, our running game improved in the second half and our tackling did as well, and what impressed me the most was how all the boys stayed positive and kept working hard throughout the whole game. These are all positives that we will build upon and improve each day! Our next game will be at home again Thursday vs Traverse City Central..
