The Western Girls JV basketball team came away with a dominant win on the road Friday afternoon at Harper Creek with a final score of 55-27. The Panthers used hot shooting from the outside with four 3 point field goals in the first half to jump out to a 32-14 lead at halftime. Western had three players in double figures with Bria Frost leading the way with 18 points. Becca Brushaber closely followed with 16, including three 3 point field goals. Lily Kalenchick added 15, including 11 in the second quarter. Elly Drinkwine added 4 points including one 3 pointer and Shelby Smith rounded out scoring with 2.
The win brings the Panthers record to 10-7. The girls return to action next Tuesday at Haslett and finish out their season at Battle Creek Lakeview on Thursday.
