The 7th grade A boys basketball team kicked off their season last night against Coldwater, earning a 42 - 8 victory. Western controlled the game from the opening tip, starting the game on a 14 - 0 run. After a couple baskets by the visiting Cardinals, Western went on another 21 - 0 run to pull further away, even holding Coldwater scoreless in the 2nd quarter. The entire team played great on both ends of the floor. Multiple players were flying all of the court on defense causing numerous Coldwater turnovers. We also did a good job of looking to make the extra pass on offense to get all players involved. We are back on our home court again Thursday as we take on Pennfield. Stats for the Panthers... Carter Culhane - 2 pts, 1 reb Bodie Vandercook - 2 pts, 2 reb, 1 ast Nolan Page - 3 reb, 1 stl Bret Kelch - 15 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast, 12 stl Pierson Jordon - 3 reb Jase Beshara - 16 pts, 9 reb, 2 stl Isaiah Watson - 1 pt, 1 ast, 6 stl Andrew Hull - 7 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl Rylon Frailey - 6 pts, 7 reb, 3 stl, 1 blk Camden Maurer - great pressure defense and team energy!
